Titles do not buy
A directory taught a generation of teams to sell to a job title in a country. The work was always happening somewhere more specific.
The list is a comfort. Filter to a title, a headcount, a territory, export, and feel the week begin. The trouble is that the filter describes a filing system, not a buying room. A VP of Sales at a 200-person company in “computer software” is a drawer. It is not a reason to write.
The reasons are smaller and more alive. They hired. They sell in a language your last vendor ignored. Their product is in people’s hands on iPhone while the economic buyer still lives in a desktop procurement tool. Their last company shared a floor with your champion. Their growth does not come from ads, so a pitch about ads is a way to get deleted.
None of this is mysticism. It is a graph: a person, a company, and a tie, each with a source and a date. Priorread is that graph, built for people whose job is to walk into rooms. The title can stay. It is just no longer the product.
If your current stack can answer “director and above, United States” and cannot answer the paragraph above, you do not have a data problem. You have a depth problem. Depth is what we sell.
