A segment with a point of view.

“Mid-market, director and above, United States” is how a quarter of campaigns still begin. The people you want are often more specific than that, and often not in that country. Depth is the cut.

Device, as an account

iOS-first products. Buyers who are not on the same device as their users. Audience shape you can say in a sentence, not a third-party cookie story.

Motion

Community-led, sales-led, product-led, ads-led. The pitch changes. The list should too.

Market, specifically

DACH clinics. Freight outside the US. Wholesale that a US industry code misfiled. Bring the market you actually sell to.

A change with a date

A hire, a CRM move, a warehouse move, a new country. Triggers are only useful when they are dated and sourced.

Then hand the why to the people who write.

Rows go to Clay if that is where the table lives, then to Outreach or Salesloft with the reason stored in a field the rep can see. Creative gets the same reason. When the list updates because someone was hired, Slack says so. You do not repurchase the titles next month and call it a new campaign.

Lifecycle teams use the same graph. The person who just joined, the product that is iOS-first, the CRM that just changed — those are onboarding facts, not only outbound facts.
